Start Your Next Opportunity with IAMGOLD For this 12 month contract we are seeking an individual to take on the role of Culinary practitioner, Exploration . Your primary mission: is to work within the kitchen to plan and prepare all food on our site, delivering healthy and nutritious meals while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards. Food Preparation You will take the lead in creating fresh, high-quality meals that residents look forward to each day. Working in close partnership with the other Chef, you'll keep kitchen operations running seamlessly across shifts, ensuring consistency in food quality, presentation, and service. From menu execution and inventory management to meal preparation and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen, you'll play a key role in delivering an exceptional dining experience. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in their craft, and values strong communication and collaboration. Planning and Budgeting Success in this role starts with strong planning and sound judgment. You'll develop and execute menus that balance nutrition, resident preferences, and cost-effectiveness while making the best use of available resources. You'll monitor food costs, track inventory levels, verify deliveries for quality and accuracy, and maintain the records needed to support efficient kitchen operations. Working with a high degree of independence, you'll anticipate supply requirements, coordinate purchasing needs, and ensure the kitchen is well-positioned to meet daily demands. Your ability to stay organized, manage priorities, and think ahead will help maintain a reliable and enjoyable dining experience for residents. The current schedule is seven days on and seven days off, with 10-hour shifts year-round. During your rotation, you will be responsible for delivering lunch and dinner service and ensuring breakfast items are prepared and ready for the following morning. Currently, the schedule is seven days on and seven days off, with each working day consisting of 10 hours for 12 months. You'll be responsible for preparing hot lunch and dinner, as well as continental breakfast items for the following morning. What You Need to Succeed Qualifications and skills include a minimum of 3 years of work experience in a related environment, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to collaborate with your cross-shift and generally work with the team in an inclusive and respectful manner. Effective and regular communication with your supervisor and cross-shift are critical requirements. You must possess a high level of interpersonal and communication skills and spread enthusiasm in the kitchen and camp environment.
