Context: To strengthen the IKOS team in Canada, we are looking for an electrical design engineer to work on large-scale railway projects. This role combines engineering design responsibilities with on-site technical oversight, working closely with technicians to ensure the successful execution of electrical installations and system improvements. Responsibilities: Perform electrical engineering studies and analyses while considering project requirements, technical constraints, and operational objectives. Develop and review electrical designs, schematics, wiring diagrams, and system modifications for test bench equipment. Support the design, modification, and improvement of electrical systems and equipment. Provide technical guidance and oversight to technicians during installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities. Select and specify electrical components, equipment, and suppliers based on project requirements. Prepare and maintain technical specifications, engineering reports, and project documentation. Support control systems, relay logic, interlocking systems, and electrical distribution applications. Participate in troubleshooting, testing, validation, and implementation of engineering solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives, quality standards, and timelines are achieved. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or master's degree in engineering. Must have an active membership with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or a Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng.) Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, switches, relays, interlocking systems, and low-voltage power systems. Experience with electrical design, wiring, schematics, and system integration. Bilingual, with full fluency in French & English. Strong problem-solving skills, initiative, and a practical engineering mindset.
