Join the Impact Public Affairs team in Ottawa to gain valuable experience in government relations, public relations and communications. Through Impact’s paid Internship Program, the successful candidate will work alongside our seasoned consultants, exposing them to a wide variety of industries and strategic work. Founded in 1997, Impact Public Affairs is a full-service government relations and communications firm based in Ottawa, with offices across Canada. No other public affairs firm has the depth of experience and track record of success in ensuring that our strategies allow organizations to deliver effective messages to government officials, the public, and key stakeholders. The successful candidate will be expected to work 40 hours a week. Responsibilities · Support Impact’s consultants with client work in a variety of different industries · Contribute to brainstorming sessions during strategy development · Support written and oral communications with Parliament Hill for client events, such as receptions or lobby days · Assist in communications through traditional media and social media campaigns in support of diverse objectives · Provide administrative assistance in coordination with the Office Manager · Help in staffing events on and off Parliament Hill Qualifications/Skills · Passionate about politics and communications · Basic knowledge of Canada’s parliamentary system · Organized and able to take on multiple tasks at the same time · Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and objectives · Able to work effectively in a team setting · Reliable, punctual and efficient · Available to work occasionally outside normal working hours · Bilingualism an asset Education and Experience · Recently graduated from a post-secondary institution · Experience working or volunteering on Parliament Hill, in campaigns and/or in communications · Experience in an office setting in a similar role Interested applicants should please send resume to: [email protected]

Exigences
Candidates should be recent post-secondary graduates with a passion for politics and basic knowledge of Canada's parliamentary system. Previous experience in campaigns, communications, or working on Parliament Hill is preferred.
