Infrastructure Ontario (IO), an Ontario crown corporation, provides a wide range of services to support the Ontario government’s initiative to modernize and maximize the value of public infrastructure and realty. Position Summary: The Financial Specialist (GIS) is responsible for providing financial oversight, forecasting, reporting and administrative coordination to support Geoportal operations and strategic initiatives. The role leads budget tracking, financial reconciliations, transaction management and reporting activities while supporting procurement processes, vendor coordination and project delivery. As a key liaison with Corporate Finance, the position contributes to sound financial management, informed decision-making and the successful execution of Geoportal initiatives during a critical period of renewal and modernization. What You Will Do: Lead budget forecasting, financial planning, variance analysis and month-end reporting activities. Monitor expenditures, commitments and project budgets to support financial accountability and effective resource management. Manage invoice processing, financial reconciliations and supporting documentation while ensuring compliance with corporate controls and audit requirements. Partner with Corporate Finance to support forecasting, reporting and financial management activities. Coordinate financial and administrative components of procurement initiatives, including RFP development, vendor interactions and contract administration. Support project planning, budget tracking, deliverable monitoring and program reporting activities. Coordinate Geoportal training activities for internal and external users. Identify financial risks, investigate discrepancies and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency. Who You Are: Financial acumen encompassing budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, reconciliations and reporting. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to identify trends, assess risks and support informed decision-making. Knowledge of financial controls, procurement practices, contract administration and audit requirements. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems used to support reporting, planning and operational activities. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy in a deadline-driven environment. Strong communication and relationship-management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with external stakeholders. Knowledge of project delivery, program coordination or technology-enabled environments. CPA coursework, project management training or related professional development would be considered an asset. We offer a competitive hiring range of $95,400 to $105,370 (P4 level), pay will align with skills, knowledge and experience of the candidate. This posting will close on August 14, 2026 at 11:59 pm.
