About the role
Key Responsibilities:
- 8 Weeks of Training on the overnight shift.
- Be trained for and enter Confined Spaces, such as bulk tanks, tankers, and vacuum trucks for cleaning.
- Receive all client waste – both bulk liquids/solids and containerized.
- Ensure waste is processed in a timely and safe manner.
- Prepare shipments of hazardous and non-hazardous waste for transport.
- Ensure incoming waste conforms with acceptance protocol.
- Load and unload waste vehicles including vacuum trucks, tankers, straight trucks, and van trailers.
- Take samples from waste vehicles and containers for lab analysis.
- Operate plant machinery including pumps and pressure washers; and assist with general maintenance.
- Gain a full understanding and working knowledge of the company’s standard operating procedures (SOPs), and ensure they are followed.
- Complete paperwork properly & ensure it is submitted.
- Complete job hazard risk assessments
- Ensure superior customer service is provided.
- General shop clean-up and maintenance.
- Attend Household Hazardous Waste collection events on weekends.
- Other tasks as required.
Requirements:
- Must be clean shaven. (for respirator usage)
- Physically fit (repetitive lifting of hoses and shoveling of soil)
- Must be good with working at heights (climbing up to catwalks above tanks to dip them, climbing on top of tankers and trucks to sample them)
- Vaild driver’s license
