Role Description The Accounting Specialist role is a full-time, on-site position based in Georgetown, ON. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities, including preparing and maintaining financial records, processing journal entries, and supporting month-end and year-end close. The Accounting Specialist will assist with the preparation and review of financial statements, reconciliation of accounts, and monitoring of transactions across multiple divisions. The role also involves using accounting software to record and analyze financial data, supporting internal reporting, and collaborating with operations and management to ensure accurate and timely financial information. This position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, multi-division environment. Qualifications Ability to prepare, review, and interpret financial statements and related reports. Proficiency with accounting software and general finance tools used for daily transaction processing and reporting. Strong analytical skills for reconciling accounts, identifying variances, and supporting financial decision-making. Experience recording and managing journal entries in accordance with accounting standards. Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA or working toward designation) is an asset. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and relevant regulatory requirements. High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and integrity when handling financial data. Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams on-site. Proficiency with MS Excel and other office productivity tools; experience in a multi-entity or multi-division environment is an advantage.
