What You’ll Get To Do The Machine Operator 1 - 1st shift is focused on operating various types of equipment to prepare glass for the next department and/or the end user customer. This position requires operation of cutting equipment, and reports to the Production Supervisor. This role is perfect for an individual who has an attention to detail (safety, quality, efficiency) strong work ethic/reliability and is a problem solver Job responsibilities include: Set up and operate fabrication equipment (drilling, cutting, tempering, or laminating machines) according to work orders, fabrication drawings, and production schedules Interpret labels, shop drawings, digital programs, and fabrication sheets to determine glass specifications, dimensions, and hole/cutout placement Perform accurate measurements using tape measures and gauges to ensure compliance with tolerances and specifications Calculate dimensions, spacing, and placement using basic math (fractions, decimals, and conversions) Monitor machine operation and make minor adjustments to maintain product quality and efficiency Inspect glass throughout the production process for defects, damage, and quality issues Complete production documentation, including daily worksheets, inspection reports, and tracking forms Perform routine machine checks and basic preventive maintenance to ensure equipment remains in good working condition Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of glass and use of PPE Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and safety standards What We’re Looking For High school diploma or equivalent preferred 1+ year of manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred (glass fabrication experience a plus) Ability to read a tape measure accurately (to 1/16” or better) Basic computer skills, including the ability to enter data and work with machine interfaces Strong math skills, including fractions, decimals, and basic calculations Ability to read and understand basic English for work instructions and safety procedures Experience operating overhead cranes or lifting equipment preferred Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and reliability Available to work a 5-day workweek with occasional work on Saturdays Hours: 2nd shift 5:00pm - 5:00am plus $4.00 shift differential Physical Requirements Ability to lift, bend, twist, carry, walk, and reach frequently Ability to stand and walk on a concrete floor wearing steel-toed shoes with metatarsal guards and other safety equipment for eight to ten hours per day Ability to work in a manufacturing environment without temperature or humidity control Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs Position Pay Range $21—$23 USD What OBE Offers You Benefits that benefit you – industry competitive benefits at the lowest cost to the employee Work-life balance – PTO and holidays, including floating holidays you can choose Compensation that rewards your hard work – A pay-for-performance culture with potential for annual raises and bonuses Training – We will equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to succeed OBE Privacy Policy OBE will not discharge or discriminate against employees or applicants for discussing, disclosing, or inquiring about their own or others' pay.

Exigences
Preferred high school diploma and 1+ year of manufacturing experience, specifically with glass fabrication and overhead cranes. Must possess strong math skills, the ability to read a tape measure to 1/16", and the physical capacity to lift up to 75 lbs.
