SUMMARY OF THE ROLE Reporting to the Area Manager and the Corporate Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Assurance / Quality Control Lead will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and ensuring compliance with the company quality policies, programs, and practices in respect of the various required codes and standards on company site projects. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Establishes quality standards for evaluation of products. * Examines work pieces to determine conformance with specifications and welding requirements. * Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders for workers. * Performs visual, dimensional and weld inspections. * Performs non-destructive testing on piping and pressure vessels built to ASME/ANSI codes. * Monitors currency of welder qualification records and certifications. * Maintains inspection and calibrations records. * Verifies dimensions of fabrications and code vessels piping, structural using various inspection tools. * Ensures compliance with code standards and requirements (i.e. ASME, CSA, AWS, ANSIO/AISC, ISO 9001). * Establishes procedures for testing welding of vessels, piping, and structural steel to code requirements. * Prepares test plans for construction. * Presents and expedites solutions to fabrication problems and testing procedures. * Complies, analyzes, and presents history dockets, data files & data reports (i.e. U1A forms, piping data reports, partial data reports). KEY REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS * Completion of a University Degree or College Diploma in Quality, Engineering or C.E.T. * A minimum of 8 years’ Q.A. field experience in a construction and/or nuclear environment. * Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) Certification. * Knowledgeable of inspection techniques. * Detailed knowledge of various Q.A./Q.C. codes. * Fully conversant with pressure vessel fabrication to ASME Section VIII, Division 1 and pressure piping and components to ASME B31.1 and B31.3. * Knowledge of and experience with CSA, ANSI/AISC, ISO 9001and ASME Codes and Standards. * Completely familiar with the development of ITP (Inspection Test Plans) to various codes. * CGSB / CWB Certifications. * Background with inspection and construction operations is required. * Strong organization skills. * Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
