Role Description The Host/Hostess/Guest Services Captain is a full-time, on-site position based at JOEY Kelowna in British Columbia. In this role, you welcome guests, manage reservations and waitlists, and coordinate seating to ensure efficient service and a smooth flow in the dining room. You serve as a key point of contact for guests, answering questions, handling inquiries, and supporting an outstanding guest experience from arrival to departure. Daily responsibilities include maintaining a clean and organized front desk and entrance, communicating with the serving and management teams, and supporting special requests or large party bookings. You may also assist in training new front-of-house team members on guest service standards and JOEY’s hospitality culture. Qualifications Strong Communication skills, including clear verbal interaction and professional interpersonal skills. Demonstrated Customer Service abilities with a focus on creating welcoming, memorable guest experiences. Experience or interest in Training and mentoring team members on service standards and procedures. Knowledge of Food & Beverage fundamentals, including menu familiarity and basic restaurant operations. Sales awareness, with the ability to promote specials, events, and upsell experiences when appropriate. Previous experience in hospitality, restaurant, or guest services is an asset. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, in a fast-paced environment. Reliable, professional, and team-oriented, with a positive attitude and a passion for hospitality.

The role involves welcoming guests, managing reservations, and coordinating seating to ensure a smooth dining room flow. The Captain also serves as a primary point of contact for guest inquiries and may assist in training new front-of-house staff.

Candidates should possess strong communication and customer service skills with a passion for hospitality. Previous experience in a restaurant or guest services environment is considered an asset, along with the ability to work flexible hours.
