About the Job: Kent is looking for a Telecom Technician to support telecommunications systems and infrastructure at Kearl. This is a site-based role, working within the plant telecom team and supporting a wide range of telecom activities including security systems, fiber optics, and communication infrastructure as required. This position operates on a 14/14 FIFO rotation from Edmonton or Calgary, working day shifts in a fast-paced, client-facing environment. Skills and Responsibilities: Responsibilities: Perform installation, and configuration of hardware and software components. Perform troubleshooting, hardware, and software issues on a different system. Perform installation, troubleshooting and repair of Card Access Systems which include panels, cards, cabling, and all associated programming in Genetec Platform. Perform installation of Digital Camera’s and associated cabling and hardware with options of interfacing them onto the Genetec System. Assist other telecom disciplines with other scopes. Assist with Fiber Optic systems. Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: Qualification/ Certification: Certificate and/or relevant courses in telecommunications Electrical trade certification may also be considered Knowledge and Experience utilizing the Genetec Security Platform Knowledge and Experience in Digital Security Camera’s including but not limited to Hernis, Axis and Avigilon. Knowledge of Tyco Safety systems (PAGA). Communication Clear verbal and written English communication skills. Comfortable working in a client-facing, team-based environment. Behavior/Core Competencies Strong attention to detail and quality. Proactive problem-solving mindset. Reliable, safety-focused, and collaborative. Adaptable and willing to support multiple workstreams within a dynamic site environment.
