Killam Apartment REIT, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is one of Canada's largest residential real estate investment trusts, owning, operating, and developing a $5.5 billion portfolio of apartments and manufactured home communities. Killam's strategy to drive value and profitability focuses on three priorities: (1) increase earnings from the existing portfolio; (2) expand the portfolio and diversify geographically through accretive acquisitions, targeting newer properties and dispositions of non-core assets; and (3) develop high-quality properties in its core markets. We are currently searching for a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Dartmouth, NS. This an exciting and challenging position in a growth-oriented organization. What you will do: • Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, molding and hardware; • Maintain, repair and renovate residences; • General maintenance and painting; • Knowledge of plumbing, minor electrical, carpentry, etc.; • Participation in an on-call rotation; • All other duties as required. What you will bring: • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role; • An interest in pursuing an electrical apprenticeship would be an asset; • Ability to work as part of a team, and also under minimal supervision; • Effective, proven skills and experience; • Renovations experience is considered an asset; • Plumbing, electrical, or HVAC experience is considered an asset; • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
