Duties And Responsibilities To use nursing process in providing patient care. To participate as a member of the Health Care Team and the Nursing Team. As an individual practitioner, to maintain competence and professionalism relevant to current practice. To maintain nursing records. Function as a member of a Multidisciplinary team. To perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (in good standing); Current BCLS; BsCN and/or Gerontology Certificate is preferred; Must be interested in the practice of Gerontology nursing, have knowledge of discharge planning and be able to function independently in a total patient care environment; Sound knowledge and application of nursing skills as listed in the CNO "Standards of Nursing Practice"; Good organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving and teaching skills; Sound judgement, good observation and patient assessment skills, tact and empathy; Able to perform appropriately in emergency situations; Able to lift, turn, transfer patients manually and with mechanical aids; Able to assume a leadership/supervisory role; Able to foster good public relations and effective working relationships in a family centered care environment; Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy; Must have a satisfactory performance record; Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service in this area At Lakeridge Health, we value inclusion and diversity. The Registered Nurse will utilize the nursing process to provide patient care within a multidisciplinary health care team. Responsibilities include maintaining nursing records and ensuring professional competence in a restorative care environment.

Candidates must be registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario and hold a current BCLS certification. A BScN or Gerontology Certificate is preferred, along with the ability to perform manual patient transfers.
