Duties And Responsibilities As an integral member of the Nephrology Program, the Registered Nurse is responsible for supporting a system that delivers person-centred, safe and effective kidney care services in an efficient, equitable and timely manner. As the program continues to achieve deliverables under the Ontario Renal Network (ORN) and strives to achieve the targets of the Ontario Renal Plan, the registered nurse will provide excellence in patient care, maintain competency and professionalism relevant to dialysis practice and work collaboratively in the context of an interprofessional nephrology team. Qualifications Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (in good standing); Demonstrated commitment to maintaining Reflective Practice Standards as outlined by the CNO; Current B.C.L.S; BScN is preferred; Hemodialysis experience and evidence of recent related continuing education; Nephrology Nursing certificate preferred or evidence of enrollment or progression towards completion; Familiar and comfortable with electronic documentation; Demonstrated good organizational, interpersonal, communication skills both written and verbal; problem-solving, prioritization and teaching skills; Demonstrated ability to perform appropriately in emergency situations; Proven ability to perform a leadership/preceptorship role; * Physically capable of performing the duties of the position in order to lift, turn, and transfer patients manually and with mechanical aids; Must have satisfactory performance record; Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices, including staff patient, and environmental safety, and participation in regular in-service education in this area; and Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy. Exigences
Candidates must be registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario and hold a current B.C.L.S certification. Hemodialysis experience and a BScN or Nephrology Nursing certificate are preferred.
