Job Title: Human Resources Assistant Job Summary The Human Resources Assistant supports the HR department with tasks related to recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits administration, claims management, training and compliance to applicable legislation. Responsibility * Provide support to employees on HR-related topics, including but not limited to, compensation and benefits programs, vacation and leave of absence requests. * Assist with the full cycle recruitment process, including job postings, screening candidates, interviewing, making hiring recommendations, preparing offers and onboarding new hires. * Assist with bi-weekly payroll by preparing necessary data entry and payroll backup. * Manage and maintain accurate employee information using Human Resources Information Systems (Oracle, Workforce). * Manage the distribution and tracking of probationary and annual hourly performance reviews. * Maintain employee morale by planning and organizing employee engagement activities. * Assist with claims Management, including STD, LTD, WSIB and the Early and Safe Return to Work Program. * Coordinate employee participation in internal and external training activities and employee development programs. * Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments and terminations. * Enter data and process documentation related to attendance and training records, performance evaluations and disciplinary actions. Academic/Educational Requirements * Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent. * Working towards a CHRP designation is an asset. Required Skills/Experience * One to three years of administrative experience, preferably in Human Resources. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate with people at all levels of the organization. * Excellent interpersonal skills. * Ability to read legislative documents relating to employment standards and human rights to comply with legal requirements and communicate related information as required. * Ability to handle changes in priorities, work on diverse tasks, and adapt to evolving organizational needs. * Proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. * Experience with human resources information systems (such as ORACLE). * Participate in continuous learning to maintain current knowledge of employment legislation and industry best practices.
