Full Description The strongest candidate would be: Warm, collaborative, and approachable while still being comfortable making difficult decisions. A strong mentor and coach who develops educators rather than simply managing them. Able to create a positive workplace culture where educators feel respected, supported, and valued. Comfortable handling conflict, performance issues, staff accountability, and difficult conversations. A visible leader who is willing to work alongside educators and model high-quality practice. A strong understanding of play-based, child-centered learning Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practice Ability to support inclusive programming for children with diverse abilities and needs Respectful, responsive approaches to behavior and guidance Commitment to children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive well-being Ability to observe, evaluate, and continuously improve programming Understanding of culturally responsive practice and meaningful relationships with families The ideal ECE Director is an experienced, Manitoba-certified ECE III who combines strong pedagogical expertise with compassionate people leadership, sound operational and financial management, regulatory knowledge, and a genuine commitment to creating a high-quality, inclusive environment for children, families, and education We have an excellent compensation package including a salary scale that meets the MCCA current recommendations The Manitoba Child Care Association acknowledges that we are located on Treaty 1 Territory and on the lands of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Anisininew, Dakota, and Dene Peoples, and the Red River Métis Homeland.
