About the Role D&R Electronics is seeking a driven and relationship-focused Technical Sales Representative to join our growing sales team. This role is responsible for developing new business while maintaining and expanding relationships with existing customers across municipal, emergency services, public safety, utilities, transportation, and commercial fleet sectors. As a trusted advisor, you will take a consultative approach to understanding each customer's operational requirements and recommending tailored vehicle equipment and fleet solutions. Working closely with engineering, production, installation, and customer support teams, you will help customers improve the safety, functionality, and performance of their fleets through innovative products and customized vehicle upfit solutions. The ideal candidate enjoys building long-term partnerships, is comfortable working with technical products, and has the ability to navigate complex sales opportunities involving multiple stakeholders and longer sales cycles. What you’ll be doing Business Development Proactively identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities within assigned territories and target markets. Build relationships with municipalities, police services, fire departments, EMS organizations, utility companies, government agencies, commercial fleet operators, and strategic partners. Develop territory plans to identify growth opportunities, increase market penetration, and achieve annual sales objectives. Generate leads through networking, referrals, trade shows, industry events, and proactive outreach. Maintain an active pipeline of qualified opportunities and consistently advance prospects through the sales process. Consultative Sales Meet with customers to assess operational challenges and recommend appropriate fleet equipment, vehicle upfit solutions, and product configurations. Deliver professional product demonstrations and presentations that clearly communicate the value of D&R Electronics' products and services. Translate technical product capabilities into practical customer benefits. Prepare detailed quotations, proposals, pricing recommendations, and product specifications. Manage multiple opportunities simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail. Build trusted, long-term relationships with existing customers by understanding their operational goals, fleet requirements, and future initiatives. Conduct regular customer visits to strengthen partnerships and identify additional sales opportunities. Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the sales process, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and responsiveness. Collaborate with customers to develop fleet equipment strategies that align with operational needs and budgets. Maintain regular communication with customers following installations to ensure continued satisfaction and identify future opportunities. Project Coordination Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, installation, and service teams to ensure customer expectations are met. Coordinate project timelines, customer requirements, technical specifications, and delivery schedules. Monitor project progress and proactively communicate updates to customers. Assist in resolving technical questions or implementation challenges throughout the project lifecycle. Support successful project completion while maintaining strong customer relationships. Industry Representation Represent D&R Electronics at trade shows, conferences, customer demonstrations, and industry association events. Stay informed on evolving technologies, emergency vehicle standards, and fleet management trends. Build relationships with industry partners, consultants, and key decision-makers. Act as a brand ambassador by promoting D&R Electronics' reputation for quality, innovation, and customer service. What you bring Minimum 3–5 years of successful outside B2B sales experience. Demonstrated success developing new business while managing established customer accounts. Experience selling technical, industrial, electrical, automotive, manufacturing, fleet, safety, or engineered products. Experience working with municipalities, public sector organizations, government agencies, emergency services, utilities, transportation, or commercial fleet organizations is considered a strong asset. Strong understanding of consultative and solution-based selling methodologies. Proven ability to manage longer sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders. Proficient with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications. Valid Ontario driver's licence with the ability to travel throughout an assigned territory.
