We are seeking an HSE Advisor! The Opportunity McKay Métis Contracting, an entity of McKay Métis Group, is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor. The Role Reporting to the Senior Manager of HSE, the HSE Advisor is responsible for providing support to operations, guiding site staff with respect to company and client safety practices, policies, procedures, and legislative obligations. Accountabilities Investigate incidents, near misses, and hazardous conditions Assist with audit process and requirements Work with management and staff on identifying hazards Provide HSE on call support as assigned Encourage and promote safe work culture Knowledge and implementation of required reporting procedures relating to OH&S Legislation and WCB Regulations as well as clients’ procedures Provide assistance with internal HSE training and mentorship Process, co-ordinate and maintain employee HSE records Participate in toolbox meetings, safety meetings, client HSE meetings – as required, emergency response planning, and field inspections Prepare and present HSE meeting topics Assist with the development of Job Hazard Assessment Maintain and report all site HSE documentation as required Maintain consistent & professional decisiveness, attendance, and punctuality All other duties as required Requirements NCSO mandatory. CRSP considered an asset Post secondary education in a related field Tickets required: CSO, Standard First Aid, H2S Alive, WHMIS Valid Class 5 license with clean Driver’s Abstract Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a construction and mining environment Competencies Excellent presentation skills Advanced written and oral communication skills Demonstrated ability to train, coach, evaluate, and develop employees Adaptable and energetic Experience with Microsoft Office required Motivated, energetic, and solution driven are critical attributes Time management, prioritization and attention to detail skills are imperative Effective problem solving and analytical skills High level of professionalism and diplomacy Ability to effectively communicate, collaborate, and maintain relationships with a diverse range of people and job functions Strong work ethic and positive team attitude Schedule Monday – Friday, 8-hour days, 40 hours/week, varying start times. The shift can change, with applicable notice, based on operational effectiveness. Salary Competitive total compensation package including comprehensive benefits.
