Flexible schedule to promote work/life balance Telecommuting in hybrid mode Group insurance from the first day Very competitive pension plan Generous holiday policy Personal days Employee Assistance Program Free parking Opportunity for professional development This is a posting for an existing permanent full-time position Summary This position is responsible for preparing electronic design drawings, fixture plans, construction details and all necessary drawings used for internal presentation, corporate approval, tendering and permits and construction execution. Specific Responsibilities Prepare preliminary design layouts, fixture plans and design details for internal review and presentation to client Prepare final fixture plans, décor drawings and both standard and site-specific design details for new stores, expansions, and renovations to existing stores. Assemble and organize hard copies and electronic sets of project drawings to be used for permits, tenders, approvals, and construction- Prepare sample boards and presentation boards to be used for various purposes Manage both the technical library and product sample inventory Manage the electronic drawing filing system for both active and archived projects Other duties as assigned Ensure projects are completed in compliance with Company policy and procedures meeting any applicable laws and regulations Occasional local Stores visit and sites where major projects are being considered to familiarize oneself with the site condition, limitations and opportunities Qualifications Diploma in Architectural Technology, Interior Design, or an equivalent post-secondary education Minimum of 2 years of Drafting experience preferably in the retail design sector Ability to manage multiple projects and achieve deadlines Must be proficient (advanced) in AutoCAD, along with working knowledge of Revit Must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing, to all levels of management, vendors, and outside organizations Self-motivated, highly organized, and good time management skills required to remain efficient and effective within all facets of the position Must have an intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office Applications, basic understanding of SAP is an asset Detail oriented Quality and accuracy are critical Basic understanding of OBC applicable laws and regulations Valid Ontario driving licence The responsibilities and relationships assigned to this role may change as is necessary to achieve Metro's business objectives.
