Responsibilities * Support property assessment and tax engagements under the direction of Managers and senior team members. * Conduct real estate market research and property analysis to support valuation conclusions and identify potential tax savings opportunities. * Collect, review and analyze property information, including assessment records, rent rolls, income and expense statements, sales and market data. * Assist with valuation analysis, assessment audits and reconciliation of client and municipal property data. * Support clients with annual Requests for Information (RFIs) and other assessment-related requirements. * Assist with the preparation of assessment appeals, valuation reports, client reporting, presentations and other deliverables. * Liaise with municipalities, assessors, brokers, property managers and other industry participants to gather relevant information. * Work collaboratively with the engagement team while developing increasing knowledge, responsibility and independence as experience is gained. Skills and Experience * Post-secondary education in real property valuation, property assessment, real estate, urban studies, economics, finance, business, law, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered. * Interest in developing a career in property assessment, taxation, real estate valuation or consulting. * Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail. * Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines. * Effective written and verbal communication skills with a professional and client-service-oriented approach. * Collaborative, curious and willing to learn, with the ability to take direction, apply feedback and assume increasing responsibility. * Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
