This position involves delegating tasks and ensuring high quality preparation of all food items in a timely manner. The successful candidate is a dedicated, passionate individual who is knowledgeable; customer service oriented and with al proven demonstrated abilities in a professional kitchen. Reporting to the Sous Chefs, the successful candidate is an enthusiastic, organized, and service oriented individual. Duties will include setting up all food preparations for functions according to MTCC culinary and food sanitation standards. JOB RESPONSIBILTIES * Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting fellow colleagues. * Review the daily production sheets and prepare necessary food items in accordance with standards in a timely and efficient fashion * Adhere to standardized recipes and specifications in order to maintain consistency and ensure all standards are met. * Understands cooking percentages * Functional knowledge of kitchen areas including classic working stations coupled with fine operational skills in preparation and execution of modern cuisine * Assists with social parties, banquets and special events * Customer service focused * Ensures kitchen is clean and sanitary and is in compliance with all provincial requirements JOB SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS * Graduation from Culinary college * 2-3 years of professional culinary experience * Completion of apprenticeship or equivelant * Ability to work nights and weekends * Strong culinary skills * Strong time management and organizational skills * Outstanding customer service skills with a can-do attitude * Food Handler Certification & WHIMIS * Basic computer skills * Detail oriented, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously * Work well under pressure, both independently, and as team members As per the LiUNA Local 506 Collective Agreement, in order to maintain Full-time status or to be classified as a Full-Time Employee, an Employee must have worked and/or paid a minimum of 1,200 hours the previous calendar year.
