Medical Laboratory Technologist (Temporary Full-Time)

ROLE Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare is looking for a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will perform routine and special laboratory tests in CMLTO authorized areas of practice: Biochemistry, Hematology, Histology, Microbiology, Transfusion Medicine, which require the use of professional judgment. Receive, identify, separate and distribute biological specimens. The application of principles, theories and techniques of Medical Technology are used to produce accurate test results, which aid the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Required Education & Certification(s) Graduate from a recognized Medical Laboratory Technology program Current professional registration and licensure with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) Required Skills & Experience(s) Effective oral and written communication skills Possesses good problem-solving skills Be able to work independently Ability to perform duties calmly while under pressure Ability to work harmoniously with patients, physicians, other managers and colleagues Knowledge of blood collection systems Good visual acuity and colour discrimination Demonstrate excellent organizational and planning skills Additional Perks At Mahc Staff referral program $1000 (for each successful permanent part-time and permanent full-time new hire you refer to MAHC) Retention Bonus $7500 (permanent full-time/permanent part-time, eligible positions only) Extended health benefits (permanent full-time) Enrolment in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) Additional Information Location: Multi-Site, working on-site at both the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital (SMMH) located in Bracebridge and Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH) located in Huntsville. Must be a graduate of a recognized Medical Laboratory Technology program with current registration and licensure with the CMLTO. Candidates must be able to work various shifts and reside within 125km of the hospital campuses.
