Rainy River Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River mine is an open pit and underground, gold and silver producing, residential mine site. The Rainy River mine, located adjacent to the Ontario/Minnesota border is 65 kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. Job Description Position: U/G Electrical General Supervisor Position Reports To: Electrical Superintendent Shift: 5/2, 4/3 Position Overview Reporting to the Electrical Superintendent, the Underground Electrical General Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership and oversight for the maintenance, repair, installation and construction of underground electrical and instrumentation systems. This position leads the day-to-day work of the underground electrical team, ensuring work is properly planned, coordinated and completed safely and efficiently. The General Supervisor works closely with operations, maintenance planning, engineering and other departments to support equipment reliability, production requirements and departmental priorities. Responsible For Provide leadership and direction to the underground electrical team and contractors, ensuring expectations for safety, quality and performance are clearly understood. Promote Coeur’s values and ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, operational and regulatory requirements. Oversee planned, corrective and emergency electrical and instrumentation maintenance work. Establish work priorities and coordinate employees, contractors, materials, tools and equipment to meet operational needs. Work closely with operations, maintenance planning and engineering to develop schedules, address electrical issues and minimize equipment downtime. Maintain a regular presence in the field to monitor work, provide support to the team and ensure work is being completed safely and to the required standard. Monitor equipment performance, identify recurring issues and implement improvements to increase reliability and reduce unplanned downtime. Oversee the development and completion of maintenance plans and ensure electrical drawings, schematics and maintenance records are accurate and current. Participate in investigations involving safety incidents, equipment failures and process interruptions, and ensure corrective actions are completed. Support the Electrical Superintendent with departmental budgets and forecasts, monitor costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency. Monitor safety, maintenance, reliability, productivity and cost performance, and take action to meet departmental KPI targets. Coach and develop employees through regular feedback, mentoring, training and performance management. Work with the training department to identify training needs and ensure employees are qualified and competent to perform their assigned work. Ensure the department has the critical spare parts, tools, testing equipment and other resources needed to complete work safely and efficiently. Participate in planning, scheduling, safety, contractor and departmental meetings, and follow through on assigned actions. Maintain strong communication with the Electrical Superintendent and other departments regarding priorities, equipment concerns, workforce needs and work progress. Provide leadership coverage and act on behalf of the Electrical Superintendent when assigned. Qualifications Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician certification or a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered. Minimum of five years of electrical maintenance experience, preferably within an underground mining environment. Three to five years of progressive supervisory or leadership experience leading electrical maintenance teams. Strong knowledge of underground electrical distribution, instrumentation, maintenance practices and applicable electrical codes and regulations. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics and troubleshoot complex electrical issues. Experience with maintenance planning, equipment reliability, budgeting and cost control. Experience using SAP or a similar maintenance management system, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office. Strong leadership, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and effectively manage changing operational priorities. A demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and a strong safety record. The anticipated salary for this position will be between $145,000 to 165,000. Note: this employment opportunity is based on an actual current vacancy, not just for future consideration. Why Coeur?
