In accordance with NL Health Services' vision, values, and strategic priorities, the Manager provides leadership in clinical operations, human resources, quality improvement, patient safety, risk management, program planning and evaluation, and professional nursing practice.The Manager is accountable for the effective stewardship of financial, human, and material resources, including budget planning, resource allocation, financial forecasting, monitoring expenditures, andensuring the efficient and effective use of resources to support high-quality care and operational excellence.A key responsibility of this role is the development and sustainability of the nursing workforce through strategic workforce planning, recruitment, retention, succession planning, staff engagement, performance development, and professional growth initiatives. Working collaboratively with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, educational partners, and operational leaders, the Manager will foster a positive work environment that supports employee well-being, operational stability, continuity of care, and the long-term sustainability of Emergency and Critical Care services.The Manager promotes a culture of accountability, innovation, continuous quality improvement, and excellence in patient care while ensuring compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.Job QualificationsEducation· Bachelor of Nursing Degree· Current registration with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Nurses (NLCN).Experience· Minimum five (5) years of progressive nursing experience.· Minimum three (3) years of recent Emergency and/or Critical Care nursing experience within the last five (5) years.· Experience in healthcare leadership, supervision, or management.· Experience in workforce planning, quality improvement, project management, and leading change initiatives.· Experience managing interdisciplinary teams in a complex acute care environment.· CNA Certification in Emergency Nursing and/or Critical Care Nursing is considered an asset.Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)· Knowledge of emergency and critical care clinical practice, operations, and evidence-based standards.· Understanding of healthcare financial management, including budget development, financial forecasting, expenditure monitoring, variance management, and resource allocation.· Ability to ensure effective stewardship and optimization of human, financial, and material resources.· Knowledge of workforce planning, recruitment, retention, succession planning, employee engagement, attendance management, and performance development strategies.· Ability to develop and sustain a high-performing workforce that supports service sustainability, quality patient outcomes, and operational stability.· Knowledge of patient safety, quality improvement, risk management, accreditation standards, and relevant healthcare legislation.· Ability to analyze operational, workforce, quality, and financial data to support evidence-informed decision making.· Leadership skills in change management, program development, and organizational transformation.· Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal, communication, collab
