Work involves carrying an active caseload of clients inreceipt of an array of services and working directly with clients / families / careproviders, social workers continually assess and monitor client strengths,resources, needs, and approved services. Adhering to the Adult Protection Act ofNewfoundland and Labrador, the Social Worker accepts and evaluates reports ofadult abuse / neglect and conducts investigations when necessary. SocialWorker?s also adhere to standards for client services in accordance with theCanadian Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics, the Standards of Practicein Social Work, and the Social Workers Act of Newfoundland and Labrador. Thesuccessful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible forpromoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate acommitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker andpatient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks andimplementing improvements.Required qualifications:? Bachelor?s Degree in social work.? Current registration with NLASW.? 2 years? experience within the last 5 years working Community SupportsPrograms.? Familiarity with the Provincial Home Support Program and CommunitySupport Program Needs Assessments.? Familiarity with assessment tools.? Considerable knowledge of the needs, resources and services available toindividuals with a disability.? Demonstrated ability in comprehensive assessment, interviewing and crisisintervention techniques, and social work programming and deliverymethods.? Established analytical capability and oral / written communication skills.? Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.? Daily use of a private vehicle for employment.? Consistent demonstration of corporate values.? A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required forthis position.? A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local policeauthority.
