NOBLE Institute for Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Small Business in Canada (NIEIC) is expanding its education and skills-development programs and is seeking an experienced French as a Second Language (FSL) Instructor. Location: British Columbia / Hybrid / Online Position: Independent Contractor, 15-20 hours per week, evening weekend may be required Compensation: $25–$30 per hour, based on qualifications and experience About the Role The FSL Instructor will develop and deliver engaging French-language instruction for adults, newcomers, professionals, entrepreneurs, youth, and other learners. The instructor will contribute to the development of Noble Institute's growing French-language and language-training programs. Key Responsibilities • Deliver FSL instruction in online, hybrid, and/or in-person settings • Prepare lesson plans, learning materials, assignments, and assessments • Develop students' speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, and pronunciation skills • Support TEF Canada / TCF Canada preparation where applicable • Monitor student progress and provide feedback • Create an inclusive and engaging learning environment • Contribute to curriculum and new French-language program development Required Education & Qualifications • Bachelor's or Master's degree in French, French Language Studies, Education, Applied Linguistics, Second Language Education, or a related field; OR • Recognized language-instruction certificate/diploma combined with relevant post-secondary education and/or qualifying teaching experience • Demonstrated experience teaching French as a Second Language • Strong written and spoken French and English • Experience teaching diverse learners • Strong knowledge of French-language teaching methodologies • Ability to use Zoom, Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, LMS and other online teaching tools Assets: TEF Canada/TCF Canada teaching experience, experience teaching newcomers, French-for-business/workplace instruction, and online or blended learning experience. Independent Contractor This is an independent contractor position. The contractor is responsible for their own taxes, benefits, equipment, insurance, and other applicable expenses and is not entitled to employee benefits.
