Position Scope Position Scope NASI is seeking a Skilled Yardperson to join our remote mining site team in the Fort McMurray area. This role is responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing parts and materials to maintenance and operations teams while maintaining accurate inventory and warehouse organization. For this role, NASI offers a combined rate of up to $36.18/hr as well as room for growth! Where You’ll Be Working Site: Syncrude Aurora Schedule: 14 x14- 12-hour days and nights (paid for 11.5 hours). Accommodations: Camp is not provided. Work Duration: 6 month +, may be extended/opportunity to roll into another project Tentative start date: March 18, 2026 Transportation: Bussing provided from Fort McMurray to site. Overtime: Provided after 8 hours in a day or 44 hours in a week Please note that this is a CLAC position and candidates working under NASI will be under the collective agreement. Responsibilities What You’ll Be Doing Operate various equipment performing maintenance duties – Loader/Grader/Forklift/Skid-Steer/Light Duty Vehicles Assist technicians with assembly and testing when required (minimal supervision) Load/off-load freight components from delivery trucks with forklift Install/replace Ground Engagement Tools (G.E.T.). This includes bucket teeth, cutting edges, bulldozer blades, motor grader blades, ripper teeth and shanks. Proficient in all Intermediate Maintenance Yardperson duties Qualifications What Makes You the ONE Minimum 3 months previous experience operating grader/loader Minimum 6 months previous experience in a shop/field heavy equipment maintenance environment Forklift/skid-steer certifications is considered an asset Class 3 License w/air endorsement and prior experience with hauling/reversing trailers with a light duty truck is an asset What's Next What's Next If you are chosen to move forward in our hiring process for a site-based role, you will be asked to provide the following: Provide a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and ability to provide a recent Driver’s Abstract Valid CSO or BSO (Energy Safety Canada) Silica Awareness (Energy Safety Canada) Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness (Energy Safety Canada) OHS Alberta Legislation Awareness (Energy Safety Canada) H2S Awareness (Energy Safety Canada) Field Ergonomics (Energy Safety Canada) Be subject to Random Testing at: Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites Undergo and successfully pass the following pre-employment testing: Breath Alcohol Test Urine Drug Test Once onboarded, the following processes will occur: Will receive a call from NASI to set up all required pre-employment testing An email will be sent with all required New Hire Paperwork to be filled out After all results and paperwork are received by NASI, candidates will be contacted by Site Admin to schedule orientation and confirm your start date and other site-specific details. Exigences
Candidates must have at least 3 months of experience operating graders or loaders and 6 months of experience in a heavy equipment maintenance environment. A valid Class 5 driver's license and various safety certifications are required for site access.
