Purpose As a successful program administered by our Musselwhite Academy, this three-month training program is designed to prepare individuals who are interested in working in an underground mining environment. The curriculum includes the Underground Hard Rock Miner – Common Core modules, along with a selection of specialty modules tailored to the industry. Stope School prepares trainees with a strong foundational understanding of underground mining, with safety emphasized as a top priority. Training consists of theory and practical activities consistent with the guidelines outlined by the Common Core Modules, a series of programs administered by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Skills Development. Upon successful completion of the program, participants may be considered for advancement into a Mine Trainee position, subject to performance, operational requirements, and available opportunities. Successful candidates will have: • 18 years of age or older • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to work independently and within a team • Self-motivation and the desire to learn new skills • Fluency in English • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada Working Conditions: • The schedule for this position will consist of 14 days on and 14 days off, 12 hours per day. Compensation: • The hourly rate for this position is CAD $25.00 per hour. Participants will undergo a three-month training program to learn underground mining fundamentals and safety protocols. Successful completion may lead to advancement into a Mine Trainee position based on performance and operational needs.

Candidates must be at least 18 years old, legally entitled to work in Canada, and possess strong communication skills. A desire to learn and the ability to work both independently and within a team are essential.
