Grades Person

Park Paving Ltd. has been locally owned and operated for over 50 years as one of the largest road construction contractors in Edmonton, and we are looking for an EXPERIENCED GRADES PERSON to join our EXCAVATION SERVICES division. This is full time seasonal position that offers a competitive wage with benefits. The primary responsibilities, duties, and expectations of this position include, but are not limited to: Understands grades and general survey, and possesses the ability to read and understand drawings Assist operators with the monitoring of excavations and safely guide operators around utilities and other obstacles Provide accurate cut and fill directions when grading after removals The ability to read grade stakes, offsetting hubs, and taking measurements Must know how to differentiate grade markings and measuring points Set up of barricades and signs around excavations Ability to work long hours and overtime in a physically demanding work setting Assist in equipment pre/post trip inspections and general maintenance Dental care Extended health care Profit sharing RRSP match Vision care Pay Scale $24 - $29 per hour based on experience Successful candidates will thrive in a problem solving, teamwork-based environment. The Grades Person is responsible for interpreting grades, survey data, and construction drawings to guide operators during excavation projects. They must also ensure site safety by monitoring obstacles, setting up traffic control, and assisting with equipment maintenance.

Candidates must have experience in grading and survey work, along with the ability to read grade stakes and construction drawings. A valid driver's license with a clean record and the ability to pass a medical/fitness exam are mandatory conditions of employment.
