What You'll Do Our Junior Software Engineer will: Write clean, maintainable code under the guidance of senior engineers. Participate in code reviews, learning from and contributing to team feedback. Implement well-defined features and bug fixes across assigned software modules. Write unit tests and participate in quality assurance processes. Collaborate with peers and leads to understand requirements and translate them into working software. Support field testing and debugging activities as directed. Continuously grow technical skills through hands-on work, mentorship, and self-study. Document code and processes clearly for team use. Qualifications Foundational software development skills in C++ or a related systems programming language. Basic understanding of software development concepts including version control, testing, and debugging. Familiarity with Linux environments and command-line tools. Eagerness to learn embedded systems, UI development, or robotics-adjacent technologies. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to ask good questions and receive constructive feedback. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, with 0–3 years of professional software development experience. Preferred Exposure to Qt, QML, or similar UI frameworks through coursework or personal projects. Familiarity with Git and basic branching workflows. Any hands-on experience with UAVs, robotics, or embedded systems. Experience with CMake or other build systems. Coursework or project experience involving REST APIs or cross-platform development. Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, and move about regularly throughout the day and lift / carry up to 25 pounds. Must have manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment as well as various electronic power supplies and test equipment. Must be physically capable of the assigned duties. Work Environment This position typically operates in a standard office and requires use of standard office and may require occasional travel to customer locations or facilities. This position may have exposure to outdoor weather conditions, noise, and non-climate-controlled environments. May require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) depending on the environment. This is a fast-paced work environment and requires cross-functional collaboration with independent and team-based responsibilities.
