Position: Temporary Head Facility Operator @ Central Collegiate Date Posted: August 12, 2026 Closing Date: August 25, 2026 Location: Central Collegiate CUPE Posting Number: 45-2026-27 Position Type: Temporary Start Date: August 26, 2026 End Date: October 5, 2026 or the return of the permanent employee FTE: 1.0 Hours of Work: 7:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Duties: In addition to the duties of a Facility Operator, the Head Facility Operator oversees the day-to-day operation of the facility and works with the Principal and Facilities Supervisor to support the training of new Facility Operator staff. Education & Qualifications A minimum of a Grade 10 diploma from a recognized educational institution as approved by the Board of Education or General Educational Development (GED) A valid Fireman’s certificate if required by legislation Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (W.H.M.I.S.) Certificate Six (6) months experience in a cleaning/caretaking position A working knowledge of computers A valid Class 5 driver’s license Ability to deliver written and oral instructions for safe, competent use of caretaking supplies, operation of cleaning equipment, and the execution of proper school caretaking procedures Ability to plan and expedite the cleaning programs as they pertain to the facility Physical Requirements: Good physical condition with the ability to do heavy work is required (i.e., exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects). The ability to work off lifts, in crawlspaces, attics, roofs, and ladders. Wage & Benefits: In accordance with the current CUPE Local 5512 Collective Bargaining Agreement. Currently, this is a rate of $25.62 per hour.
