Is looking for an experienced Crane Truck Driver for our Airdrie Home Hardware Building Centre. About the Role The Crane Truck Driver delivers products and/or supplies to customers, vendors, or to jobsites & other store locations. Other responsibilities include: * Safely perform all assigned tasks with sufficient speed and accuracy to avoid adverse impact on the level of customer service. * Move heavy and bulky merchandise for customers and for sales personnel. * Advise Yard Manager of shortages and/or damaged goods. * Do odd jobs and run errands. * Conduct daily pre-trip inspections/circle checks of vehicle (check oil, etc.) and report vehicle maintenance to their Supervisor. * Maintain vehicle maintenance records. * Check delivery documents and follow company procedures regarding required signatures, forms, receipts and other equipment/safety paperwork, etc. * Report complaints from customers to management. * Assist in loading and unloading merchandise and materials. * Follow all safety precautions when operating company vehicles and loading or unloading freight. * Be alert for sales opportunities or referral to other areas of our business. * Make suggestions for rule, policy, or procedure changes when you believe such changes will improve sales, profits, and/or morale. etc. * Follow all delivery and receiving procedures and company policies as determined by management. * Maintain proper security of merchandise and delivery documents. * Help in training new employees. * Work on any special projects assigned by Yard Manager, after determining their priority in relation to your other duties. * Work in a safe manner in accordance with provincial and federal safety legislation, as well as use of good common sense. Report any potential hazards and unsafe behavior to management in order to have the situation corrected. * Follow proper procedures according to store policy regarding returns and refunds. * Other duties, as required. What We Need From You * High school diploma * 3+ years of experience. * Certified to operate heavy equipment - Class 1 license with air brake endorsement, and knuckle crane experience required. * 19+ years of age * Able to operate loading, unloading, and transfer equipment (forklifts, pushcarts, computer, etc.), as well as company vehicles. * Know the methods for safely securing cargo. * Must move merchandise weighing up to 100 pounds to or from company vehicles in the delivery process. * Able to work outdoors * Maintain a good driving record and lawfully operate all company vehicles used to make deliveries. (Drivers abstract required yearly). * Hold a valid Fork-lift certificate.
