Position: Director, Compensation Location: Markham, ON (Hybrid - 3 days onsite) Salary: $150,000-$160,000 + Bonus Job Type: Permanent Posting Type: Open Vacancy Our client, a leading healthcare organization, is seeking a strategic Director, Compensation to lead the design, development, and execution of enterprise-wide compensation programs. This newly created leadership role will report to the VP, Total Rewards and is ideal for an experienced compensation leader who has successfully built compensation frameworks, salary structures, and pay programs within a large, complex organization. You'll partner closely with executive leadership to drive compensation strategy while leading a high-impact function through growth and transformation. What You'll Be Doing - Lead the organization's compensation strategy, programs, and governance. - Design and implement salary structures, pay bands, and job architecture. - Oversee market benchmarking, job evaluations, and compensation analytics. - Lead annual compensation planning, including salary reviews and incentive programs. - Partner with HR, Finance, and senior leadership to provide strategic compensation guidance. - Support labour relations by providing compensation costing and analysis related to collective bargaining agreements. - Leverage Workday and other technologies to enhance compensation processes and reporting. - Lead and mentor the compensation team while driving continuous improvement. What We're Looking For - 10+ years of progressive compensation experience, including leadership responsibilities. - Proven experience designing compensation strategies, salary structures, and pay bands. - Experience supporting large, complex organizations; healthcare or other highly regulated industries are preferred. - Strong knowledge of compensation governance, job evaluation, market pricing, and pay equity. - Experience supporting unionized environments and understanding the impact of collective bargaining agreements. - CCP designation is considered an asset.
