Saburo Kitchen ? Downtown Winnipeg / Hargrave Street Market Saburo Kitchen is looking for an experienced and reliable Sushi Chef to join our team in Downtown Winnipeg. We are looking for someone with a minimum of 2 years of professional sushi preparation experience who takes pride in quality, presentation, cleanliness, and consistency. Responsibilities - Prepare sushi, sashimi, rolls, nigiri, and other Japanese dishes according to established standards - Prepare and handle fish, seafood, rice, vegetables, and other ingredients - Demonstrate strong knife skills and proper food preparation techniques - Ensure consistent quality, portioning, taste, and presentation - Prepare ingredients and maintain an organized workstation throughout service - Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures - Assist with inventory, stocking, and proper storage of ingredients - Work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining quality standards - Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and support the team as needed - Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment Qualifications - Minimum 2 years of professional sushi chef experience required - Strong sushi preparation and knife skills - Knowledge of Japanese cuisine, ingredients, and sushi techniques - Experience handling and preparing fish and seafood - Strong attention to detail and presentation - Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment - Reliable, punctual, and hardworking - Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills - Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required - Food safety certification is an asset What We?re Looking For We are looking for someone who is passionate about sushi and Japanese cuisine, takes pride in their work, and can consistently deliver high-quality food in a busy restaurant environment.
