Dining Server

Permanent, Part-time, Hourly Drayton Valley Retirement Residence, 3902 47 Street, Drayton Valley, AB T7A0A2 The Opportunity We’re looking for a Dining Server. This role is responsible for serving meals and servicing catering events while ensuring an exceptional dining experience to residents and guests. What You’ll Do * Prepare food for serving to the residents and ensuring resident satisfaction with meal service * Take orders, setting and stripping tables and serving food/beverages in accordance with established policies and procedures and all applicable regulations * Unpack and store supplies; maintain work and storage areas in a clean, safe sanitary manner * Wash, clean and sort dishes, cutlery, fixtures and equipment used for food preparation and service * Operate and clean food equipment, furniture and maintain dining area * All other duties as assigned * What You’ll Bring * Experience working in a kitchen is considered an asset * Must be able to read and communicate effectively, and follow written/verbal instructions * Ability to lift up to and including 50 pounds is considered an asset * Must be able to operate related equipment * Demonstrate empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors * Ability to organize work and work under strict time constraints * Must have a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness * Current Safe Food Handler’s Certification * What We Offer * A safe, inclusive workplace where you’re supported and appreciated * Competitive compensation and benefits * Opportunities for leadership development and career growth * A warm, welcoming culture inspired by our vision of making people’s lives better, driven by our mission to create happy, healthy, and meaningful lives for our residents * Additional Requirements * Covid-19 vaccination is mandatory * Clear Criminal Background Check, VSS and TB Test where required Line 3 - 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (Days) Line 8 - 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (Days) Line 3 - 60 Hours Bi-weekly Line 8 - 45 Hours Bi-weekly

The dining server is responsible for preparing and serving meals to residents while maintaining a clean and sanitary dining environment. They also assist with catering events and ensure resident satisfaction through attentive service.

Candidates should have effective communication skills and the ability to follow instructions, with experience in a kitchen setting considered an asset. A current Safe Food Handler’s Certification is required, along with the ability to perform physical tasks like lifting up to 50 pounds.
