This is an opportunity to work closely with the Chair, School of Public Safety, the Manager provides academic and operational leadership, administrative oversight, and quality assurance support for the Paralegal and Law Clerk programs. The incumbent supports the Chair in ensuring compliance with Law Society of Ontario requirements, facilitating effective program delivery, and advancing student success. The role contributes to program planning, accreditation processes, and external partnerships, while supporting faculty in alignment with institutional policies and processes. The primary work location is Newnham Campus. Travel to King Campus is required for meetings. Responsibilities Program Leadership & Accreditation Provide operational oversight and academic coordination for the delivery of the Paralegal and Law Clerk programs (full-time and part-time). Act as the primary administrative liaison with the Law Society of Ontario, supporting timely responses and resolution of program-related matters in consultation with the Chair. Provide oversight for day-to-day faculty, student and operational issues and requirements in consultation with the Chair and institutional support systems. Support the Chair in ensuring program compliance with accreditation, academic, and institutional requirements. Coordinate the completion of accreditation activities (e.g., audits, renewals, observations) and institutional program review processes. Monitor program delivery to support consistency with approved curriculum, institutional and professional standards. Support processes to confirm that graduates meet competencies required for licensing progression. Ensure marketing and admissions information is accurate, verifiable, and aligned with regulatory expectations. Faculty Coordination & Development Support recruitment, onboarding, and orientation of full-time and part-time faculty in collaboration with the Chair. Assist in verifying faculty credentials and experience in alignment with accreditation requirements. Coordinate teaching schedules and logistics, in consultation with the Chair and established processes. Provide guidance and resources related to academic policies, classroom practices, and student support processes. Facilitate faculty meetings and support communication and collaboration across instructional teams. Participate in classroom observation processes and provide input to the Chair, as required. Program Delivery & Operations Oversee operational processes supporting program delivery to ensure timeliness and effectiveness. Support field placement processes, including reviewing the suitability of placement opportunities and supervisors. Monitor instructional delivery and identify areas for continuous improvement, in consultation with the Chair. Support the acquisition and coordination of instructional resources. Assist the Chair with workload planning processes and resource utilization. Student Success Lead operational initiatives that support student progression, retention, and success. Support the resolution of student concerns in collaboration with the Chair and appropriate college services. Serve as a resource for complex student issues, working closely with faculty and Student Services. Guide students toward appropriate supports and institutional resources. Strategic Planning & Quality Assurance Support the Chair in long-term planning, including program development, curriculum review processes, and resource planning. Lead or contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and program-related projects. Coordinate Program Advisory Committee activities and support alignment with industry needs. Partnerships, Marketing & Outreach Develop and maintain relationships with industry, community, and professional organizations. Participate in marketing, recruitment, and outreach activities. Represent the Polytechnic at external meetings, events, and advisory committees. Support development of program communications and digital presence. What You Bring to Seneca Minimum of three (3) years’ progressive experience in a leadership position; practice in establishing policies and procedures in support of continuous improvement and specific knowledge of student success processes are required. Minimum three (3) years of legal practice experience in Ontario as a licensed lawyer. Post-secondary teaching or instructional experience is required; three (3) years is preferred. Management experience in a post-secondary environment; demonstrated project management skills are preferred. Post-secondary teaching experience, preferably in a related school discipline, is an asset. Experience in establishing job performance levels, academic requirements, scheduling, administrative support, and basic accounting is considered an asset, as the functions of the position may vary from day to day. Law Society of Ontario licensee in Active Good Standing. An undergraduate degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, is preferred. A graduate degree (Master's) and/or a degree, diploma, or certificate in education from an accredited or recognized institution is considered an asset. Well-developed public relations and relationship-building skills and demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire staff. Proven ability to manage projects and deliver professional presentations. Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and judgment skills. Demonstrated organization, managerial, and project management skills with an emphasis on interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication/interpersonal skills to interact effectively with the College’s multi-cultural/racial/able students, staff and public. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Experience with database applications and learning management systems is an asset. Familiarity with student information systems. The compensation step will be determined based on receiving and verifying relevant formal education through official transcripts and relevant work experience, in accordance with the salary placement calculation process.
