We are recruiting a full-time Legal Assistant/Law Clerk to join our tort/accident benefits team. While experience in insurance defence/personal injury is an asset, we know that our mentorship and training program provides the ability for a bright and motivated individual without such experience to thrive. Required Experience/ Skills/ Qualifications: Experience in insurance defence litigation including tort and accident benefits files an asset; Minimum of four to six years experience as a legal assistant/law clerk, preferably with LAT and accident benefits experience Post-secondary legal assistant or law clerk diploma or related discipline from an accredited institution; Thorough knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Resourceful individual who takes initiative, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adjust to changing priorities, and multi-tasking skills; Strong organizational, attention to detail, and time-management skills; Knowledge of Actionstep Legal Accounting, NetDocuments, ACL and Microsoft Office an asset; Primary Responsibilities: Practice management for lawyers including: Drafting summaries, correspondence, pleadings, motion records, and other legal documents; Managing and tracking deadlines and events; Co-ordinating and scheduling hearings, discoveries, mediations, meetings, etc; Serving and filing court documents; Entering time into accounting software as required; Opening and closing files, which includes maintaining detailed matter/client lists; Other duties related to administration of the practice; Handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism; Providing assistance to lawyers and law clerks with trial and hearing preparation including supporting with the compilation of records and briefs; Compensation & Schedule Salary: we offer highly competitive compensation commensurate with experience and skill level Schedule: Monday to Friday; 35 hours/week In-person role with the possibility of hybrid work in the future once skill set developed This job posting is for an existing vacancy within the organization Benefits Health, Extended Health LTD insurance Life insurance Parking/Transit reimbursement RRSP matching program Employee Assistance Program Wellness program Deadline for submissions is Friday, September 11, 2026.
