As a Security Guard, you will ensure a safe and welcoming environment while prioritizing positive public relations and safeguarding all the company's property and tenants. ABOUT THE ROLE * Provide professional, friendly customer service and maintain a visible, approachable security presence for tenants, visitors, and customers. * Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols and inspections of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and common areas. * Monitor parking facilities, access points, and building security systems to identify unauthorized activity, safety concerns, hazards, and security issues. * Enforce building access procedures, delivery protocols, parking requirements, fire-lane regulations, and other security standards. * Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, emergencies, unusual occurrences, injuries, and security concerns, escalating to management, emergency services, or law enforcement when required. * Complete required life-safety, security, key, and facility inspections and maintain accurate patrol and incident records. * Build positive working relationships with tenants, building management, local authorities, and other security personnel. * Support building operations through duties such as key audits, tenant mail delivery, vehicle escorts, HVAC and lighting checks, and scheduled night patrols. * Maintain a professional appearance and comply with uniform, PPE, health and safety, and safe work requirements. * Identify, address, and promptly report hazards, incidents, injuries, and other workplace concerns in accordance with company policies. * Perform other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE * Valid Ontario Private Investigator and Security Guard licence, maintained in good standing. * Grade 12 education plus a Police Foundations, Law and Security Administration, or related diploma. * 2–3 years of security experience, preferably in a building or property security environment. * Current First Aid and CPR certification. * Strong interpersonal, communication, customer service, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. * Training and experience in emergency response, tactical awareness, and conflict intervention. * Strong report-writing and administrative skills, including daily activity logs and incident reports; Microsoft Office and security systems experience is an asset. * Knowledge of security systems, building operations, fire safety, applicable legislation, and municipal by-laws. * Valid driver's licence. * Ability and availability to work rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and 12-hour shifts, with occasional 8-hour schedules WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU Join Our Team for a Supportive and Enriching Employee Experience! A minimum of 2-3 years of security experience, current First Aid/CPR certification, and a valid driver's licence are required.
