The Corporate Accountant is responsible for various accounting and reporting tasks for multiple entities within the SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts. This is a 17-month contract position. The salary range for this role is $46,096.76 - $61,308.69. The actual salary offered will be determined based on several factors, including job related knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, education, training, and geographic location. We reserve the upper end of the salary band for internal employees who demonstrate sustained high performance. Responsibilities and Duties: Prepare month-end journal entries for multiple entities. Prepare month-end reconciliations including project journals and ensure accurate postings. Prepare monthly accruals, depreciation and prepaid expense schedules. Ensure general ledger and intercompany reconciliations are completed on a timely basis and that all transactions including intercompany billings and cost recoveries flow through the G/L properly from company to company. Prepare various inter-company charges for treasury transfers monthly and follow up with hotel controllers and accounting staff as required. Prepare bank reconciliations for all SilverBirch-managed hotel entities as well as corporate entities. Responsible for monthly tax filings. Assist with preparation of annual corporate tax returns and partnership returns. Assist with processing corporate and hotel accounts payable. Prepare various internal financial reports. Assist with credit applications and renovation projects reconciliations. Other day-to-day corporate tasks as required. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required: Detail oriented with excellent multi-tasking and organizational abilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work well individually and as part of a team. Experience and understanding multiple companies for the flow of transactions through a company structure. Excellent organization, problem solving and time management skills. Constant drive toward efficiency and process improvement. Flexibility, desire and ability to elevate within a growing organization. Working Conditions: In office working conditions. Experience, Training and Education: Completion of a Business Related Degree/Diploma or pursuing an Accounting Designation. One to two years of accounting experience. Previous experience in a corporate accounting role would be an asset. Exposure to spreadsheets and financial reporting. Computer skills in Microsoft Office with good Excel knowledge. Prior experience using an ERP system and understanding the related processes and procedures an asset.
