Reporting to: Manager, Diagnostics Responsibilities: · Responsible for ensuring patient identification, safety and preparation are correct prior to a scan while maintaining patient confidentiality. · Greet patient, explain forthcoming tests, position patient and generally prepare him/her for the examination. · Observe patient during the diagnostic procedure, making note of any symptoms or changes in vital signs and summoning medical aid when necessary. · Ensure all quality control assessments are performed as required. Take all reasonable precautions and work in compliance with related policies, health and safety legislation, and best practices. · Confirm procedures for proper equipment maintenance are completed in accordance with department standards. · Ensure equipment and instruments are performing in an efficient and effective manner. · Prepare and organize reports as required. · Other duties as assigned. Qualifications, Experience & Requirements: 0-2 years of related experience – open to hiring new graduates! Candidates must be ARDMS or Sonography Canada certified (Registration with ACMDTT is required). Current CPR certificate. Ability to perform various Echocardiogram machines (primarily Philips iE33, GE Vivid s6, GE Vivid E9) The ability to perform Stress and Contrast Echocardiograms is an asset. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and training. Demonstrate effective decision-making and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. A cheerful, positive attitude and the ability to work effectively with others as well as the ability to work independently and treat everyone with respect, dignity, and kindness. The Echo Technologist is responsible for preparing patients for 2D echocardiograms and monitoring them during diagnostic procedures to ensure safety. They must also perform quality control assessments, maintain equipment, and accurately document reports.

Candidates must be ARDMS or Sonography Canada certified and hold a current CPR certificate. The role requires 0-2 years of experience, though new graduates are encouraged to apply.
