SNELL Medical Communication is seeking an experienced Medical Writer with a strong talent for developing scientific and medical content for slide presentations to join our Market Access and HEOR team. At SNELL, developing content is our core competency, and our medical writers help turn complex scientific and health economic information into clear, accurate, and effective communications. The Medical Writer collaborates closely with the Vice Presidents and Executive Director of the Market Access and HEOR team to plan, develop, review, annotate, and manage scientific content for assigned accounts. This role supports a variety of therapeutic areas and produces materials tailored primarily to US payers and specialized healthcare professionals. Content is delivered through print and digital formats, including slide presentations and data visualizations, with additional formats including newsletters, executive summaries, peer-reviewed publications, eLearning platforms, and web applications. The Medical Writer will contribute to assigned projects, participate in client interactions as appropriate, and partner with internal teams to deliver high-quality work aligned with client needs and SNELL standards. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, collaborative, and strategic in their approach to medical communications. This role offers a clear path for advancement to Sr. Medical Writer or Account Manager, depending on the candidate’s interests, strengths, and professional goals. Key responsibilities Collaborate with the SNELL team to plan, develop, write, visualize and edit materials to meet project objectives and deliverable expectations Develop clear, accurate, and compelling scientific slide presentations — translating complex clinical, health economic, and outcomes data into content tailored to US payer and HCP audiences Produce high-quality work in partnership with Team Lead(s) and contribute to assigned projects to meet client expectations Conduct research, fact-check content, and secure appropriate references Review and annotate content to ensure compliance with in-house, client, and/or American Medical Association (AMA) style guides Assist with client regulatory submissions into content management platforms and, where appropriate, participate in medical, legal, and regulatory review processes Support client engagement by helping build confidence in SNELL's services and participating in client calls when needed Apply creative and critical thinking to address challenges and propose solutions Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, standards, key medical topics and terminology to serve as a resource to internal and client teams Demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, and a commitment to exceptional client service, including representing SNELL at industry meetings and scientific congresses when appropriate Qualifications and experience Advanced degree in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, biosciences, or related field preferred. Candidates with an undergraduate degree in a related discipline and 3-5 years of relevant experience in an agency or the pharmaceutical industry will also be considered Medical content development and writing experience required, with health outcomes and/or market access experience preferred. Approximately 2–3 years of medical communications agency experience is ideal Experience developing unbranded or branded slide decks, promotional materials, advisory board content, core claims documents, or eLearning modules Strong writing skills and medical terminology knowledge, with a high level of attention to detail Advanced capabilities in Microsoft PowerPoint, with the ability to develop and refine scientific slide decks, and present complex information clearly and visually Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite Proficiency with AI-assisted tools, and the ability to use them responsibly, with human oversight, to support research, content development, editing, and workflow efficiency, while maintaining scientific accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with client and industry standards Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and adapt to changing project volumes and timelines Ability to work independently or as part of a team Experience with content management platforms (Pubstrat, Veeva etc.) is an asset If you recognize yourself in this description, please submit your CV by email to [email protected].
