La Société de transport de Laval est une entreprise de transport en commun par autobus sur le territoire lavallois. La STL effectue plus de 20 millions de déplacements annuellement. En 2009, la STL a déployé son système STLSynchro qui renseigne les usagers en temps réel sur les horaires et les déplacements des autobus. En 2012, la STL a été la première société de transport au Québec et la 2e au Canada à acheter un autobus électrique pour effectuer des tests sur l'électrification de son réseau. En 2016, l'autobus électrique intégrait la réseau régulier. En 2016, la STL implantait ses mesures préférentielles pour bus (MPB), une série de 5 mesures (feux intelligents, voies réservées, relocalisation d'abribus, voies d'évitement et feux chandelles) pour rendre son service plus fluide et rapide. Une première nord-américaine. En 2017, la STL verra à implanter son Engagement qualité, un programme assurant au client la livraison de service optimal avec un système de compensation.
