Your Opportunity Are you an experienced geotechnical engineer ready to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The successful candidate will work with our local team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia with support from our team in Atlantic Canada, supported by a wider, regional team of over 200 geotechnical staff. The Senior Geotechnical Engineer role provides an opportunity to lead and contribute to a diverse range of geotechnical projects within a multidisciplinary project team environment. The successful candidate will bring technical expertise, project management experience, and a collaborative approach to support the continued growth of the geotechnical team through technical excellence, effective project delivery, successful proposal development, and mentorship of junior staff. Your Key Responsibilities * Technical Development: Lead and support geotechnical investigations, engineering analyses, and design for small to large projects across transportation, infrastructure, power, mining, industrial, commercial, and residential sectors. Provide senior technical review and guidance to support high-quality deliverables * Escape the Office: Perform and oversee field assignments, which may include site inspections, monitoring geotechnical investigation programs, construction monitoring, slope stability assessments, and installation and monitoring of geotechnical instrumentation. The extent of field involvement may vary depending on project needs and the candidate’s interests and experience * Team Collaboration: Collaborate with project teams in Nova Scotia, across the Maritimes, and throughout Canada. Mentor and train junior staff to strengthen our geotechnical engineering and materials practice while contributing to a supportive, growth-focused team environment * Project Delivery: Lead and manage geotechnical projects, including scope development, planning, analysis, reporting, budgeting, scheduling, quality review, and client communication. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week. Exigences
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field and possess at least 10 years of geotechnical experience. Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Nova Scotia is required, along with a valid driver's license.
