Cyber Security Intern

Cyber Security Intern Location: Canada | Work Arrangement: Remote | Employment Type: Internship Position Overview We are hiring on behalf of our client for a Cyber Security Intern to support cybersecurity initiatives designed to strengthen the protection of digital systems, applications, networks, and information assets. The successful candidate will gain exposure to security monitoring, vulnerability management, risk assessment, and security operations while working alongside technical teams. Key Responsibilities Assist in monitoring and reviewing security events, alerts, and potential indicators of compromise. Support vulnerability assessment activities and assist in documenting identified security weaknesses. Conduct research on emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques. Assist with security assessments and risk analysis activities. Support the review and implementation of cybersecurity controls and procedures. Assist with maintaining security documentation, reports, and incident records. Support access management and other information security processes as assigned. Participate in security awareness and cybersecurity best-practice initiatives. Assist technical teams with investigating and documenting security-related issues. Contribute to activities related to security compliance and internal security requirements. Escalate potential security incidents or vulnerabilities in accordance with established procedures. Qualifications Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Understanding of fundamental cybersecurity concepts and security principles. Knowledge of networking fundamentals, operating systems, authentication, and access controls. Familiarity with common cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques. Basic understanding of security monitoring, vulnerability assessment, or incident response concepts. Strong analytical and investigative skills. Excellent attention to detail and documentation abilities. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to handle sensitive technical information with professionalism and discretion. Willingness to continuously develop knowledge of emerging cybersecurity technologies and threats. Candidates should be pursuing or have recently completed a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field. A fundamental understanding of networking, security principles, and common cyber threats is required.
