About The Role Sulzer Pumps (Canada) Inc. - Flow Equipment, is a division of Sulzer Ltd, and is a global leader in the development and supply of pumping solutions and related equipment to its key markets oil and gas, power, general industries (mining, metals, food, CPI & fertilizers) and water. Job Overview Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the Account Manager - Western Canada, promotes the sales and services (parts and repairs) of Sulzer Pumps / Water & Industrial Business Unit products (pumps, mixers, agitators, compressors etc.) and accessories to established and new customers within the Account Manager’s area of responsibility. By providing technical and commercial proposals in response to inquiries, and interfacing between customers and company facilities, our successful candidate will primarily work independently with occasional guidance from the National Sales Manager PPI. In This Role You Will Be Accountable For Selling Sulzer Pumps Industry products and services (parts and repairs) to established customers. Sourcing and developing new customers, growing future business while protecting the existing base; develop growth in new areas within existing customer base. Negotiate orders including all technical, commercial and legal details to the mutual satisfaction of customers and the Company. Calling on prospective customers; maintain contracts with customers in relation to their requirements. Secure and renew orders; arrange delivery dates and other peripherals integral to selling. Travel to customer locations to insure close and regular face-to-face contact. Customer meetings during and outside normal business hours on a regular basis consistent with expense budgets and good business practices. To Succeed In This Role, You Will Need Ideally a Bachelor's degree in Engineering , or five (5) plus years related experience in pumps and hydraulics. Relevant experience and strong knowledge in marketing and selling of industry related equipment (pumps, motors etc.) Experience in pulp & paper and metal industries would be ideal. Excellent written, verbal, negotiation and interpersonal skills in English without supervision or oversight Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal direct supervision Outgoing personality Ability to accept rejection and still maintain a positive attitude Proficient in math and computer skills; skilled with Microsoft Office applications, SAP knowledge preferred. Strong ability to utilize technical knowledge and analytical skills to resolve problems and objections from both internal and external forces Willingness to travel overnight (vehicle and air) on a routine basis with occasional travel, as required for the given assignment/territory Valid driver’s license with good driving record Physical Requirements: Lifting up to 25 pounds What we offer you Company pension Dental care Disability insurance Employee assistance program Extended health care Life insurance Paid time off Vision care Work from home Eligibility to Apply: Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid work permit.
