We’re looking to enhance our team by welcoming a new Production Supervisor (Afternoon Shift) to the Production Team. The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading the daily operations of the production department to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely manufacture of high-quality products. This role oversees production scheduling, workforce planning, task allocation, and shift operations while ensuring production targets, quality standards, and operational objectives are achieved. The Production Supervisor monitors key performance metrics, optimizes labour utilization, supports equipment reliability, and maintains compliance with company policies, GMP, food safety, health and safety, and regulatory requirements. Working closely with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Warehouse, Planning, and Sanitation teams, the Production Supervisor resolves operational issues, supports new product launches and process improvements, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, and product quality. The role is also responsible for recruiting, training, coaching, and developing production employees, conducting performance evaluations, managing staffing requirements, validating payroll and time records, maintaining accurate production documentation, and fostering a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. The role: Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of production line employees, including scheduling, assigning work, monitoring attendance, and providing coaching, training, and performance feedback. Plan and execute the production schedule by establishing priorities, allocating resources, monitoring progress, adjusting schedules as needed, and ensuring production targets are achieved. Monitor key production metrics including output, yield, downtime, waste, labour efficiency, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), taking corrective action to meet operational goals. Ensure the safe and efficient operation of production equipment by coordinating changeovers, supporting troubleshooting, arranging repairs. Maintain product quality by ensuring compliance with quality standards, SOPs, GMP, allergen control, traceability, sanitation, and hygiene requirements. Promote and maintain a safe workplace by enforcing health and safety policies, conducting safety meetings and audits, investigating incidents, completing root cause analyses, and implementing corrective actions. Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Warehouse, Planning, and Sanitation teams to resolve operational issues and ensure efficient production flow. Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, root cause analysis, and other operational excellence projects to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency. Review manufacturing processes and operating practices to identify opportunities for process improvements, labour optimization, cost reduction, and increased operational efficiency. Maintain accurate production records, batch documentation, inventory records, labour reports, and other operational documentation; prepare and communicate production performance reports. Analyze production data and performance metrics to identify trends, respond to operational inquiries, and support informed decision-making. Manage shift handovers by communicating production performance, outstanding issues, and priorities to ensure continuity between shifts. Support new product trials, process validations, and production scale-up activities while ensuring compliance with quality and operational standards. Assist with the recruitment, training, and development of production employees to build a skilled and engaged workforce. Conduct probationary and annual performance reviews, address employee performance concerns, resolve personnel issues, and recommend appropriate corrective actions. Trains staff in fundamentals of production as well as cross trains the staff in all facets of production Manage temporary staffing requirements, coordinate staffing levels, approve vacation requests for TONFI employees, and maintain adequate workforce coverage. Validate employee time records and payroll information using the ADP & Kronos time and attendance system. Develop, update, and improve operational systems, procedures, record-keeping practices, and reporting processes to support departmental effectiveness. You offer: High school diploma, college diploma preferred Experience with ERP (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and production data systems. 2-4 years of manufacturing experience (Food Industry preferred) in a supervisory role Computer skills – Microsoft office (Inventory software preferred) Good Communication skills, both oral and written Ability to multitask and work under deadlines Strategic planning and production planning Knowledge in Health and Safety practices. GMP and HACCP training.
