About the Company Our client is a Vancouver-based family office with a long-term investment approach across a diversified portfolio of operating companies and investments. The finance team supports a multi-entity environment and is focused on delivering accurate reporting, strong financial stewardship, and continuous process improvement. The Opportunity Our client is seeking a Corporate Accountant to support the accounting and reporting functions for a portfolio of internal entities. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reconciliations, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and assisting with tax and corporate compliance requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and enjoys taking ownership of operational accounting responsibilities while contributing to process improvements and long-term growth within finance. Key Responsibilities Prepare and post monthly journal entries and reconciliations Complete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities Review trial balances and investigate discrepancies Support complex accounting transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, refinancings, and reorganizations Manage invoicing, revenue recognition, collections, and revenue forecasting Review and process intercompany transactions and invoicing Own full-cycle accounts payable for assigned entities Maintain accounting records, financial documentation, and corporate records Prepare GST/HST filings, remittances, Employer Health Tax, and WCB filings Support tax compliance processes and liaise with external accounting partners Prepare financial statement packages and support cash forecasting Participate in ERP enhancements, system implementations, and process improvement initiatives Support quarterly and year-end tax planning activities and corporate distributions Contribute to strengthening internal controls and finance processes, including leveraging AI-enabled efficiencies where appropriate. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field CPA designation completed or in progress 5+ years of accounting experience, including experience in a multi-entity environment Public practice and/or Big 4 experience considered an asset Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, tax compliance, and corporate accounting Advanced Excel skills Experience with Microsoft Business Central, Jet Reports, or similar ERP systems is an asset Self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities Collaborative, low-ego team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
