The University of the Fraser Valley Student Union Society (SUS) is a BC Not-For-Profit Society representing and serving UFV students. The Society manages the Student Union Building and facilitates services such as the UFV U-PASS, food services, and the student health and dental plan. SUS also provides support to an active community by organizing events, overseeing clubs and association's and provides wellness and developmental programming. As the official representative body of UFV students, our mission is to be an inclusive community that provides high-quality, accessible programs and services. We are the unified voice advocating on behalf of student interests in the UFV community, ensuring each student has opportunities to thrive. Position: Clubs and Associations Assistant Work Schedule: Part-Time, Monday to Friday (25-30 hours per week) Duration: September 4 to December 10, 2026 Salary: $19.23 per hour Reporting to: Programs & Services Manager Position Description The Clubs & Associations Assistant plays a key role in supporting the delivery and administration of the SUS Clubs & Associations (C&As) Program. This position focuses on providing consistent administrative support, assisting with the implementation of processes and policies, and ensuring clubs are well-supported in their day-to-day operations. The C&A Assistant is responsible for supporting program operations through strong organization, attention to detail, and clear communication. This includes assisting with documentation, responding to inquiries, and contributing to the ongoing development and refinement of procedures and policies that support a fair and effective C&A program. Duties and Responsibilities Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Programs & Services Manager Assist with processing club documentation, communications, and funding requests Support the implementation and consistent application of C&A procedures and policies Open and close the SUB Clubhouse as required Assist with setting up materials and spaces for meetings and events in the SUB Clubhouse Respond to student inquiries and provide clear information on C&A processes and the Rubric platform Support the coordination and delivery of C&A events Assist with club registration processes and maintain accurate records Provide information and support to students interested in starting or joining a club Liaise with clubs to ensure compliance with SUS policies and procedures Provide occasional support to the Programs & Services team as needed Qualifications and Experience Understanding of, and commitment to, Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in a community setting Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Sound judgment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to follow established processes Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and provide reliable operational support Basic computer skills, including experience with Word and Outlook Term of Employment This is a temporary position (September 4 to December 10, 2026) A weekly schedule will be agreed in advance with the Programs and Services manager and, within reason, accommodate the employee’s academic schedule (if applicable).
