As an Electrician for Via Rail, you will perform electrical duties on locomotives and passenger cars, including our HVAC equipment. You will have the overall responsibilities of all electrical equipment, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and lighting systems. You will install, repair, and replace electrical controls and panel boxes, test and measure voltage, loads, ground faults integrity of circuits for all electrical equipment. You will also conduct preventive maintenance programs. The position is permanent (40 hours per week guaranteed) and the work schedule may vary (day, evening, night, weekend, and holidays). Candidates must be available to work any day of the week as the Maintenance Center is open 7 days a week, 24 hours, during peak season. The work location is the Montreal Maintenance center in Pointe St Charles What is in it for you ? Requirements: Previous experience with troubleshooting and electrical equipment Be able to understand and communicate in French. The electrician will perform maintenance and repairs on electrical equipment, including HVAC, refrigeration, and lighting systems on locomotives and passenger cars. They are also responsible for conducting preventive maintenance programs and testing electrical circuit integrity.

Candidates must have previous experience with troubleshooting and electrical equipment, along with the ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays. A professional or technical degree in refrigeration or electromechanics is considered an asset.
