From our new ultramodern train fleet to ongoing improvement of our infrastructure, we’re building the future of transportation in Canada. Working for VIA Rail is being a part of a collective effort in sustainable mobility. As an Electrician for Via Rail, you will perform electrical duties on locomotives and passenger cars, including our HVAC equipment. You will have the overall responsibilities of all electrical equipment, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and lighting systems. You will install, repair, and replace electrical controls and panel boxes, test and measure voltage, loads, ground faults integrity of circuits for all electrical equipment. You will also conduct preventive maintenance programs. The position is permanent (40 hours per week guaranteed) and the work schedule may vary (day, evening, night, weekend, and holidays). Candidates must be available to work any day of the week as the Maintenance Center is open 7 days a week, 24 hours, during peak season. The work location is the Montreal Maintenance center in Pointe St Charles What is in it for you ? Requirements: Previous experience with troubleshooting and electrical equipment Be able to understand and communicate in French.
