Product Development Engineer Type: Permanent - Full Time Start Date: October 01, 2026 or ASAP Location: 3-125 Adelaide St. Winnipeg, MB (subject to change) Compensation: $70,000 - 90,000+ (based on experience) Application Deadline: Sept 4th, 2026 Eligibility - Due to the nature of this position and security requirements, only applications from Canadian citizens or permanent residents will be considered. The Role The Product Development Engineer will support the development of advanced PPE and respiratory protection systems from product definition through detailed design, testing, and production readiness. This role will involve translating user needs, program objectives, and test results into clear engineering requirements and practical design solutions. The position is highly hands-on and will work closely with Engineering, Quality, Testing & Certification, Operations, and external suppliers to move products from prototype-stage concepts toward controlled, manufacturable, and certifiable solutions. Requested Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline 3+ years of relevant product development or mechanical design experience preferred Proficiency in CAD software, with Fusion 360 or SolidWorks preferred Strong mechanical design, problem-solving, and DFM capability Experience developing or refining engineering requirements and specifications Experience with prototyping, testing, materials selection, and manufacturing processes Ability to create and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation Experience working with suppliers and cross-functional technical teams Familiarity with ISO 13485, ISO 14971, verification and validation, or regulated product development is an asset Responsibilities Develop and refine product and engineering requirements based on user needs, program objectives, standards, risk assessments, and test results Translate requirements into practical mechanical concepts and detailed engineering solutions Design and develop medical, military, and industrial products in accordance with internal specifications and applicable standards Create and maintain 3D models, 2D drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation Participate in hands-on prototyping, assembly, testing, and iterative design improvement Support design reviews, risk assessments, and verification and validation planning Apply DFM principles and collaborate with suppliers on materials, components, tooling, and manufacturing methods Work closely with Quality, Testing & Certification, and Operations to support design transfer, production readiness, and certification activities Revise engineering designs and documentation in response to testing, manufacturing requirements, and design changes Support maintenance of design documentation including DHF and DMR activities where applicable Provide technical support during pilot runs and commercial manufacturing Other duties as assigned What We Offer Comprehensive group benefits package Employee stock option plan Flexible start and end times Opportunities for professional growth and development How To Apply Please apply on LinkedIn or Indeed.
