Your Opportunity: We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Clinical Scheduling Lead for the Diagnostic Imaging (DI) Central Scheduling Team. Reporting to the Manager, Edmonton Central Scheduling, this position provides specialized technical expertise and operational support for Diagnostic Imaging scheduling services across the Edmonton Corridor. The Clinical Scheduling Lead is a subject matter expert in Diagnostic Imaging scheduling processes, booking standards, Connect Care workflows, and patient access management. Working collaboratively with schedulers, operational leaders, physicians, radiologists, and other stakeholders, the incumbent supports the delivery of efficient, accurate, and patient-centered scheduling services through workflow optimization, quality monitoring, education, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is responsible for monitoring scheduling performance, waitlist activity, referral inventories, service utilization, and patient access trends. Using advanced analytical skills, the Clinical Scheduling Lead collects, interprets, and presents operational data to identify opportunities, address workflow challenges, and provide evidence-based recommendations that support service planning, operational decision-making, and improved patient access. The Clinical Scheduling Lead serves as a key resource for staff and leadership by providing technical guidance, supporting complex scheduling situations, developing standard operating procedures and educational resources, and participating in operational projects and system improvements. The position plays a lead role in advancing scheduling standards, promoting workflow consistency, and supporting continuous quality improvement initiatives across the service. Description: As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program. Additional Required Qualifications: Medical Office Assistant Certificate and Medical Terminology Certificate required. Minimum three (3) years recent Diagnostic Imaging scheduling experience with an understanding of Diagnostic Imaging scheduling processes. Minimum five (5) years medical office experience in a complex healthcare environment. Experience working with Connect Care and computerized patient information systems. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Tableau, and SharePoint. Must be cognizant of all legal regulations and AHS Policies as they apply to Diagnostic Imaging (for example, HIA, ATIA, and POPA). Demonstrated advanced analytical skills with the ability to analyze operational, scheduling, waitlist, and capacity data, identify trends, develop reports and performance metrics, and provide evidence-based recommendations to support operational planning and service improvement. Proven ability to provide technical guidance, coaching, mentoring, and education to staff. Must have excellent interpersonal and public relation skills, strong oral and written communication skills. Must be able to work independently to consistently produce a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and efficiency. Evidence of continued personal and professional development. Ability to work onsite in a shared work environment. Preferred Qualifications: Course work in Project Management, Lean, AIW, or Quality Improvement methodologies. Experience developing reports, dashboards, operational metrics, and performance monitoring tools. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, pivot tables, trend analysis, reporting, and dashboard development. Experience analyzing healthcare operational metrics, wait times, referral inventories, scheduling performance indicators, capacity utilization, and patient access data.
